The Binic Folks Blues Festival
An unmissable indie rock festival on the Brittany coast
In the height of summer, the Binic Folks Blues Festival stands out as one of Brittany’s major music events. For three days, the port of Binic – Étables-sur-Mer is transformed into a veritable open-air stage where music lovers and curious visitors gather to enjoy a festive atmosphere by the sea.
Founded in 2008 by the La Nef D Fous association, this festival is now renowned for the quality of its line-up and its resolutely independent spirit. Rock, folk-rock, blues-rock, garage, punk and even post-rock set the tone for the concerts, which take place one after another on several stages set up around the harbour.
Every year, bands from Europe, America and Australia perform in Binic alongside a host of up-and-coming acts. This eclectic line-up makes the festival an unmissable event for fans of independent music and those who love a good party in Brittany.
Pirate Spirit
A weekend of adventure to relive Binic’s pirate past
Every two years, the Grain de Pirate festival transforms the harbour at Binic – Étables-sur-Mer into a veritable setting for maritime adventure. Free and unique in Brittany, this event immerses young and old alike in the world of pirates, privateers and buccaneers for a festive weekend by the sea.
For several days, the town is transformed into an imaginary 18th-century port: pirate camps, street performances, entertainment, concerts and parades take over the quays and the beach. Visitors can explore a real pirate camp set up by the sea, watch historical re-enactments and enjoy family-friendly activities that bring the town’s history of privateering to life.
Organised by a local association and numerous passionate volunteers, the festival relies on strong local support. Costumes, sets and stage designs help create a fully immersive experience in the world of piracy, offering a festive and original experience for the whole family.
